Questions about our programs?

Do I need to be an experienced beach volleyball player to join?

No. Our leagues are open to a wide range of skill levels. From new players looking to learn, to experienced players who want competitive play. We group teams to keep games fun and fair.

Can I sign up as an individual or do I need a full team?

This year we ask you to register with a team. If you're struggling to find teammates, add your name to this list and reach out to others with similar interests! Individuals add your info here

Where are the leagues and tournaments held?

All games and events take place on Parksville Beach, British Columbia, one of the best beach volleyball locations on Vancouver Island (best in the country if you ask us).

When does the season run?

Our beach volleyball season runs May - August. Registration typically opens in the winter with leagues, tournaments, and camps running throughout the summer. Follow us on Midseason to be the first to know about new leagues, camps, and tournaments!

What happens if the weather is bad?

Beach volleyball is played rain or shine whenever it’s safe to do so. In the case of extreme weather or unsafe conditions, we’ll communicate any cancellations or changes in advance.

I tried signing up with email and I'm not getting my verification email

Please check your Spam folder. It's common to see them hiding there. In some cases, email providers can take a up to 20 minutes to deliver.
If that doesn't solve it, please try signing up with Apple or Google.

I have an Android, how do I register?

Until mid-March, Android users will have to register for a league via the Oceanside website.
Find your league of choice here, scroll down and tap "Register Via Form."

Once the app is available on Android, Midseason will send you an email with your temporary login. Once logged in, you will see the event you registered for waiting for you on your Midseason home page.

**If you have a team member who uses an iPhone we encourage them to register your team until the Android app is available.**
‍Why? Check-in notifications are only triggered when you register or accept a team invitation via the app.

What this means - Androids who register on behalf of their team will not recieve check-in notifications but their team members will.
‍
‍This is a one-time issue that will not effect future registrations.

How do I find an OOS league on Midseason?

After creating your account, tap the search icon on your bottom menu bar. Tap "Start your search" at the top of the screen and type in the name of the league (e.g. "Adult Doubles", "Youth Co-Ed Triples", etc.). You can also find Oceansides profile by searching their name under the "people" tab bar.

My child doesn't have a phone, how can I register them?

Two options here:

1. Create the Athlete account under their name and follow registration as usual.

2. Create the Athlete account under your name. When you're on the league registration page select "Add Profile" to add a dependent. After adding their profile, you will see your name and your childs name under "Register As" - double check you have the correct profiles selected.

How do I add team members to my team?

First, team members need to have a profile on Mideason.

On the league registration page, scroll down below "Team Name" and tap "Add Team Members," search for their name(s) and tap "Add."

How do I add team members to my team after I register?

1. From your home page, tap on your team
2. Tap "Team Members"
3. Tap "Add Team Member"
4. Tap "Send Invitiation"

In order to add people to your team, they need an Athlete account on Midseason. After they make an account they will show up in the app.

How do I invite a dependent to a team?

When on the registration page for an event, tap "Add Team Members" and search for the name of the parent account. For privacy reasons, dependent accounts are tied to their parent accounts.

Accepting an invitation for a dependent: The parent account will recieve the team invitation on behalf of their dependent, where they will then select which profile is accepting and away you go!

I'm not getting notifications

Double check you have allowed Midseason notifications in your device settings. If issues persist, please let Jeff or Nathan know or contact nathan@midseason.app

How do I view my matches?

Inside the league home page you will see your team's matches front and center, you can also view lots of goodies inside Session Draw.

How does check-in work?

When a team member checks in, it checks the entire team in for that day (we call them sessions in Midseason). Organizers have the ability to change your check-in status if needed.
